The Yakusho clan (やくしょ一族, Yakusho Ichizoku) is a newly formed clan of Kusagakure.
Background[]
The clan's founder, Kazō Yakusho, created it sometime after the Fourth Shinobi World War when finding out he would be a father. Its members come from his family and the Mitou family; both of which were not originally ninja clans. He and his wife Kasumi decided to have their non-ninja parents and siblings join under the Yakusho name so they could have a larger family from the start. Their son, Shinji, is in line to be the second head of the clan. Nori is born into the clan a few years after Shinji joins the Academy.
Besides their parents and siblings, Yuka Toueizu is also an affiliated member. She joined after moving in with Kasumi's sister, Seishi. Originally, Seishi was going to move in with Yuka as a part of the Toueizu clan, but Yuka didn't want to take her from the small, close knit family she already had. Since Kazō was now a diplomat for Kusa, having an archivist-nin like Yuka around proved to be useful. If not for that, her clan may not have wanted her and their clan abilities to leave.

The Yakusho clan lives at the edge of the village, partially in the surrounding forest. Kazō did this to give some seclusion to their home. To reach it, one must walk up a few slopes from the main streets. Within the openness of the forest, Kasumi has planted several different gardens. Each has a variety of plants that she can use with her kekkei genkai. Inside, Kazō has few wire strings set up with small bells, to let them know when someone is near the home.
As a diplomat for the village, Kazō has a room with bookshelves and scrolls that he uses. He also had a room made for messenger birds to land and rest. Several of their perches have wires attached to chime a separate set of bells, in case no one is around to notice the birds.
The rest of the members have their own houses around the surrounding compound. Kazō's parents and sister have a house at the base of the slopes, near the end of the street leading into town. Kasumi's parents have a house directly next door to them. At the top of the slopes is a side path leading away from the main Yakusho residence, where Seishi and Yuka live.
Abilities[]
As the clan is still new, there are not many abilities known to it. Shinji, the first to be born into the clan, is shown to possess his mother's grass release kekkei genkai. Grass release ninjutsu enables the wielder to create and control various aspects of vegetation. Techniques learned through this kekkei genkai often revolve around grasses specifically, but other plants such as vines, burs, ivy, and figs have also been seen.
So far, this is the only ability to be passed on. The Vine Strangling Technique, specifically, is used by Shinji, his mother, and Seishi. Such a technique may start serving as a "coming of age" technique in the clan.
It is unknown if Kazō's Wood Manipulation ability will show in Shinji, as it is not a kekkei genkai and was learned through effort alone.
