Kuragan (black eye) (目的 ) Is a recessive Dojutsu, Kekkei Genkai that is from the Satō Clan which allows the user to see chakra and individual charka signatures. However, it is only seen once every three or four generations, thus making it very rare.
Overview[]
The user is able to see all chakra and individual chakra signatures, this allows users to track chakra over a long range and can sense how much of their chakra a person is using. They, however, cannot see the chakra network.
The Kuragan also allows the user to remotely control their chakra. This is done by either using kunai infused with chakra or sending chakra directly to someone by touching them. This infects the opponents’ chakra with their own allowing the user to control it. Hatsumi can then do what she wants with the opponents’ chakra, such as disrupting the chakra, absorbing it, or taking total control of it.
Abilities[]
"Chakra Control" []
- The user can see the chakra of others as well as the source of the chakra. They can spot any irregularities in the flow of Chakra and thus can see if someone is under Genjutsu. They are also able to see individual chakra signatures and can distinguish people based only on their chakra.
- Individuals are given the ability to control their chakra out of their bodies and without the use of hand signs. They can control their chakra to such an extent that they can control objects, such as Kunai or jutsu as if they were doing it normally. However, this requires training and concentration.
- They can control others, Jutsu and Charka as if it was their own. All they require is to touch someone so that their own chakra manifests and takes over the opponents chakra system. The individual can now either cause all chakra to explode within the opponent, make them do their bidding or cause all Jutsu to fail.
"Chakra Absorption" []
- Once having control of another's chakra the individual can now absorb that chakra into his/her's own body. This is to replenish their own chakra supply while making the opponent noticeably weaker and eventually dying.
- Being able to absorb the opponents' chakra and heal a teammate simultaneously, this was done when Hatsumi was healing Naruto while Kakashi was battling. Little did the opponent know that opponent know that Hatsumi was using their chakra and not her's. This results in quicker battles, as it easily exhausts them and Hatsumi can reserve her chakra for emergencies.
Evolution[]
It is unclear where the Kuragan comes from, due it being seen only once ever 2 or 3 generations. Sayuri has speculated that it is a rare Dojutsu that comes from both the Uzumaki and Satō clans.
Side Effects[]
There are drawbacks from the frequent use of the Kurogan, such as headaches. Hatsumi is only able to use the Kurogan for up to 3 hours a day, during the fourth shinobi war this was increased to 10 hours a day. Users will also suffer from bleeding the eyes, pain in the head and in severe cases short term blindness for up to a week.
The Kurgan, like the Sharingan is connected to the emotional state of the user, whenever the Hatsumi becomes upset or angry her chakra can latch onto the nearest person insistently killing them, This happened during her chunin exams where she killed her opponent during combat.
