Funaki Miu, better known as Majo, is a fairly strong and independent former ANBU-agent who used to work under Shimaru Danzô, before she started to work under Orochimaru.
Majo/Funaki Miu belongs to Hebi-no-majo. All art made and copyrighted to them. Do not use in any way!
Background[]
Miu's mother, Haruka was born in Konohagakure and was just a normal villager. She moved to the land of rice fields when she met Miu's father, Kazaki and married him there. Before Miu turned 4, her mother had divorced her father Kazaki, and decided to go back to Konoha with Miu, leaving Kazaki behind.
Miu attended the Konoha Academy at age five. She was a little timid at first because she was from another country, she kept her distance from others but opened up more when she was approached by Rin. But kept her insecurity through the years. One day, her eyes fell on Orochimaru. A person who looked so different from others but didn't seem to distance himself from his colleagues because of that (at least, in her eyes). Miu became kind of interested in him, the ideas of what ever kind of stories he had to tell made her excited. But Orochimaru paid no attention to her. This interest was probably caused by not having a father figure.

At the age of seven, her mother died in a building fire. Sarutobi Hiruzen helped Miu from then on, not able to find her father because they had no info of him. When Danzo heard about this, he took Miu into Root and had her trained to become a Root ANBU. While she continued to grow up in Root, she had to dispose of her emotions like all Root members, this caused Miu to get more easily agitated and had some underlying stress she tried to bury.
Since she stopped going to the academy and rarely showed up in town, her school mates slowly started to forget about her.

At the age of fifteen, Miu was assigned to keep an eye out on another member, Orochimaru, in case he did anything Danzo did not want. Orochimaru noticed this rather quickly, when realizing Miu was the girl who admired him from a distant when she was little he figured she was an easy target and took her with several others to test the first cursed seal on. Miu, while investigating Orochimaru started to become interested in what he was doing and his goals, she then was lured in and Orochimaru used his Juinjutsu on her. Having gone through immense pain and torture for several days, Miu had surprisingly survived. She became rather disoriented and was found by other Root members, it took her some time to come back to realization and once there she tried to secretly find Orochimaru again, not having told anyone what had actually happened to her or who did it.

It was then that Orochimaru defected Konoha and Kinoe were to meet Orochimaru at an underground cave of the Iburi clan, Miu having overheard about these orders decided to go there too in secret but once noticing things didn't seem to go smoothly she stayed on the side lines to wait it out. Once Orochimaru was able to flee from there on, Miu followed him and offered him her services. Officially defecting Root and Konoha, hiding herself in Orochimaru's hide-outs where her epithet started to grow: Hebi no Majo.
Three years later, when accompanying Orochimaru to a different Hide-out, Miu came across a young girl who seemed angered and scared by the men surrounding her. Miu interfered and had gotten the men to go away. She had wanted to leave the girl alone but was followed by to her own dismay. The young girl, named Ichi, was quite a hand full at times due to having a development disorder. Miu tried to take care of her but as she was also working constantly did not have much time to get to know the girl properly, this took certainly some time.
While checking around prisons, Miu came across a prisoner who caught her eyes. Shun had been imprisoned just recently, he was a bit weak because he did not eat much. Miu rarely felt sorry for any prisoners until then. After giving him some food they interacted more with each other, Miu would visit him more frequently over time. Eventually having a good bond with him, however she could not get herself to free him because of her strong loyalty to Orochimaru. Shun understood, he was still happy to have her around.
When she was just in her 20's, she became pregnant from Shun. Sadly, she went into a miscarriage, causing her to get depressed. Orochimaru removed her memories to get her back to work properly. However she did not recognize herself after this as she had changed too much in the deleted time, as she had let her hair grow and felt more emotions. Since her thoughts went back to her ANBU time, she cut her hair short again like back then to try and identify herself once again. However since she had already created a new identity and people started calling her by her epithet, she slowly grew back to her actual self after a little struggle.
Because of her drastic change back to her previous self, Shun decided to leave as he could not make Miu choose between him and Orochimaru. Since Miu's love for Shun had changed. Shun escaped prison without a word and trace. It took a bit of time for Miu to realize she still had feelings for Shun, it made her furious that he left without a word so she tried to track him, but since she did so too late it was difficult to find any tracks. This made her think she had no choice but to turn back to Orochimaru instead.
Personality[]
At first sight, Miu might look like a stern woman. She is a somewhat serious person especially when she is working on something or has her mind on something. She isn't easily fond of others and needs to observe them for a while before she makes up her mind about them or not. She does always have a helpful nature to others, even those she might not be fond of though she will help in ways that might help her too. She would not do anything that might jeopardize her position.
Because of Miu's helpful nature, she can easily become a mother figure to certain people as well, this is mostly with younger ones. A big example is Ichi, a girl with a development disorder that attached herself to Miu. Kara, another young girl who was a prisoner indebted herself to Miu after her release in shippuden, despite having been a prisoner under Miu's care, it was the good care Miu gave her and Kara understood Miu did not want to jeopardize herself.

As much as she seems like a calm woman, she has certain trigger points that could make her rather annoyed, such as talking bad about Orochimaru. Her loyalty towards him can occasionally give her tunnel vision in certain situations.
Appearance[]
Miu has a normal light skin with purple sharp looking eyes. She has brown long hair ending a tad spiky at her butt cheeks, locks framing her face to the middle of her chest while one shorter lock over her forehead ends between her brows. While through the majority of her childhood and young-adult years she had bob length hair and spiky bangs, only having it grown once to put in a ponytail.
Since her young-adult years she started growing a more curvaceous body to which she started dressing more form fitting clothes, in her adult years she started showing off her cleavage of her noticeably large breasts, which most certainly do not surpass Tsunade's. Miu is far above average height of the majority of ladies.
In the first season, Miu wears a simple short sleeves beige dress with a very low cus V neck over a black long sleeves shirt underneath together with short black spandex pants and high shinobi sandals. This outfit is one she wore the longest, she can also be seen in it around her twentieth with short hair.
Her most common outfit is in part II, wearing a light grey kimono blouse with purple brim, black obi and matching black high shinobi sandals. While her skirt is a simple straight purple one with obvious open cut on her right side showing off her thigh.
In the majority of her outfits she covers her neck with a bandage that is slightly loose over her collarbones. She also has a long snake tattoo on her right arm with the head starting on her wrist and tail ending right against the middle of her bicep, while around her left wrist she has a summoning tattoo for her giant snake Ocha, which is unlike Orochimaru's tattoo three separate rings instead of a tail.

Part I[]
As years had gone by and Orochimaru had found more subordinates and assistants, Miu's life had become somewhat tedious. How ever; she had kept loyal to Orochimaru, and kept an eye on his wishes and goals. At this stage, Orochimaru had his eyes on Sasuke and Konohagakure.
During the konoha invasion at the chuunin exam, Miu tried to stay somewhat close to Orochimaru to keep an eye out. Not trusting the young sound four much, nor believing in their strength. Once seeing she did not need to interfere or help out, she did her own thing.

After Sarutobi Hiruzen's demise; through out his funeral, Miu could have been spotted atop the Hokage's monument in funeral wear. Paying respects from a distance as she had not forgotten his attempts to help her as a young child after losing her mother.
While Orochimaru's health had decreased after his battle with Hiruzen, Miu had taken some distance from him and found other things to do for herself. Around this time she had started taking care of a few inmates she had gotten attached to. This mostly being Kara, a thirteen year old girl that Orochimaru had experimented on with Tsunade's DNA and Chakra.
Since in the last few years, Miu had time to take on a hobby which was sewing and making her own clothing. This was also needed for her adoptive daughter, Ichi, and came in handy for the prisoners.
Time Skip[]
As over the past year(s) her assistance seemed less needed, Miu started feeling less useful and important. So she decided to go undercover at the chunnin exams with a young team, she mostly did this to keep her eyes on anything interesting or suspicious that could benefit Orochimaru in any way possible even though he had his mind set more on Sasuke Uchiha at the time, which Miu personally did not like.

Part II[]
Miu was quite reluctant about Sasuke's presence in the beginning, this caused her to distance herself from Orochimaru physically in the past few years. Dispite her dislike and suspicions towards Sasuke, she eventually accepted him somewhat, all to still be able to be next to Orochimaru again even though he was so focused on training Sasuke. At times even training with Sasuke himself, however he had gotten much stronger over the years and Miu stopped training with him as she felt somewhat outmatched.
Orochimaru always felt immortal to Miu, but once she realized Sasuke had (supposedly) killed him, Miu's world felt like it crumbled down. She was in the hallway as it happened, around the corner from Kabuto who walked in on Sasuke getting out Orochimaru's room, once Sasuke left, Miu quickly left the hide-out as well. She would not admit she felt somewhat fearful in that moment, but she was, that and completely baffled that Sasuke attacked Orochimaru at a weak and vulnerable moment. Since her whole life was dedicated to Orochimaru and to serve him, it took her some time to gather herself back up.
The next few months she jumped from one hide-out to the other to inspect it, how ever she grew somewhat tired of this now that she lost Orochimaru. Although in the back of her mind she still thought Orochimaru must be alive somehow, somewhere. While traveling so much alone this time, she came to think more about her own life and already being in her thirties thought it was time to think properly about it. It took her some time to decide but she figured it was time to quit and start her own life. Although her loyalty to Orochimaru prevented her from releasing all the prisoners, even if it was inhumane to let them stay and probably starve, she decided to let a few go which she bonded with like a young teen, Kara. The teen wished to come along with Miu as she was not sure what to do in life and felt greatly in debt to Miu, they parted ways after traveling a few days since Miu felt like she needed to go on on her own. It's then that she decided to travel around to find and reconnect with Shun again.
Almost a year later, the fourth shinobi war started, Miu is seen resting under a tree before being caught by The Infinite Tsukuyomi that trapped the whole world in a dream. Miu dreams of what her live would have been if she had her first child with Shun, being a happy couple with a son. This was also her wish in that moment, to find Shun again and live happily with him.
Blank Period[]
A few months after the fourth shinobi war ended, Miu had finally found Shun's whereabouts. He had found residence in the land of snow where he met and lived with a woman named Shirushi, after finding out about this, Miu was reluctant to approach Shun so it took a bit of time to do so. Shun was having relationship trouble with Shirushi, meeting Miu again made everything a little more difficult though he eventually left Shirushi for Miu.
While settling back in the land of sound, despite wanting to let go of her past with Orochimaru, Miu tended to occasionally check his hide-outs. Part of her did this in the hopes of coming across the man to be able to personally say goodbye to him, she had heard about him being in the fourth shinobi war but had not seen or heard of or from him since. Until in one of the hide-outs, she heard footsteps and discovered it was Orochimaru asking her if she still kept things in check. Miu wasn't quite prepared for the surprise encounter in that moment but tried to reply as she would have in the past, Orochimaru noticed but ignored Miu's hesitant behavior. Miu accompanied him for a little while as they walked around to find anything beneficial for Orochimaru, after some silence he asked her why she seemed nervous, to have her spit it out since he suspected already what she wanted. Miu finally told him she was leaving his service to which he replied she was free to go long ago, Miu always doubted this, especially before Sasuke's attack on Orochimaru Miu did not feel free to leave as she was always scared Orochimaru would dispose of her for knowing too much. As they stopped walking and Miu was about to say more, she was interrupted by Suigetsu who simply raised a brow to seeing Miu. Being content enough from her short talk with Orochimaru, Miu took her leave instead, with relieve and happy to look forward to her life without worry.

Miu had not gotten her memories back of her miscarriage in her early twenties, even so the idea of getting pregnant made her somewhat anxious. It gave her an odd and confusing feeling she could not place, once discovering she was pregnant did this become more stressful for her until Shun told her about the memory she lost, finally knowing where the feeling came from Miu was somewhat relieved. She tried her best to stay optimistic about the pregnancy to make sure nothing went wrong and kept a close eye on it, she got a healthy girl she named Shiori.
Her old friend Kara had also settled in the land of sound with her son Jun at the time, while Shiori and Jun, only two years apart, grew up together did Kara become Shiori's godmother. Miu somewhat spoiled Shiori and very precious considering her first child died, Shiori became a little shy because of Miu being very protective as well. At the time Shiori started the ninja academy, Miu gave birth to twins boys, however the second boy did not survive. Youta, the first born was completely healthy. Once Youta was a few years older, Miu set up her own tailor shop. As it was her hobby over the years to make clothes, she found it a nice idea to start a shop for it to have something more to do.
In the years to come, Miu noticed her cursed seal changing and her body around it. It took some time to study it but concluded that it was unstable, a slow growing side effect of it as it was one of the first tests Orochimaru had done. It was draining Miu's own energy to grow though extremely slow.
